Nintendo Switch has sold over 20 million units

Nintendo Switch console sales have reached and almost 20 million units have been sold.

Nintendo's first quarter results are in for Q1 FY2018 and the company has revealed that the Switch's sales have reached 19.67 million units, while software sales for the platform have reached 83.93 units.

The top-selling Switch first-party titles haven't changed much since the end of last financial year, with Super Mario Odyssey up from 10 million units in April to 11.17 million units.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the next top -selling title, up from 9.22 million units in April to 10.35 million for 2018's first quarter. The game launched on Nintendo Switch at the end of April last year. It was the "best entry in the series so far" and it was "just as amazing in 2017 as it was in 2014".

The game latterly got a free Breath of the Wild update that gives the players race as Link in his Champion's Tunic on the Master Cycle Zero, introduced in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Champion's Ballad DLC.

Arms broke two million, going from 1.85 million units sold in April to 2.01 this first quarter.

The top-selling Switch first-party games after Q1 FY2018, according to Nintendo, are:

  • Super Mario Odyssey - 11.17 million units
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 10.35 million units
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 9.32 million units
  • Splatoon 2 - 6.76 million units
  • 1-2 Switch - 2.45 million units
  • Arms - 2.01 million units
  • Kirby Star Allies - 1.89 million units
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - 1.42 million units
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - 1.40 million units
  • Mario Tennis Aces - 1.38 million units
