PUBG is now the most played non-valve Steam game ever

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to achieve more success milestones in its early-access. In the latest update, PUBG has managed to beat all other non-valve games on Steam to become the most-played non-valve game on the Steam charts with 481,291 peak players in July 2017. Overall, PUBG was the third most played game behind only Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. In this chart, PUBG left behind some heavy hitters like GTA V and Fallout 4.

Success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is most notable because unlike other games on this list of all-time most-played game at any time, PUBG is the only early-access game. Player base for PUBG must have received a bump from recently added first-person only dedicated servers along with provision of both paid and free cosmetics.
