PS4 is due for another major firmware update, sign-up for beta now

PlayStation 4 is scheduled to get another major firmware update real soon, probably firmware 5.0 update. The scale of the upcoming update is sure to be huge as PlayStation has invited PS4 players to sign-up for the update beta testing in coming weeks.

Currently, the latest PS4 firmware version is update 4.72, with the last major update being update 4.50 released in March. If you remember, players who took part in the beta of update 4.50 will remember that they got to preview major new features like custom wallpapers, external HDD support, longer video saving, boost mode for PS4 Pro, and voice chat for PS4 Remote Play.
