PlayerUnknown’s Battleground is getting first-person only servers next month

Brendan Greene AKA PlayerUnknown has announced on Twitter that his game “PlayerGround’s Battlegrounds” will get first-person only game servers. This update will come to the game in its next monthly update.

The first-person only servers update will come first to North America/ Europe solo and duo matches and will expand to other regions gradually. Person-person servers may also come to the squad games mode as well, but that will depend on reception of the update post-release.

At present, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds offers both third-person and first-person perspective options and players can change the view on-the-fly, similar to GTA V and MGS V. However, there is an inherent advantage in playing third-person as players can see the enemy over cover and in other situations. This created an issue of inherent disadvantage to players who preferred playing in first-person mode. The upcoming monthly update aims to resolve that issue by introducing first-person mode only.
