Gran Turismo Sport gets a release date, launched on October 17

Gran Turismo is one of the highest selling and most popular PlayStation franchise. Despite its critical and commercial acclaim, there is no Gran Turismo game available on PS4 yet. This is soon to change as Gran Turismo Sport is set to launch on PS4 on October 17 (October 18 in Australia and Europe region).

Gran Turismo Sport - Release Date Trailer - RentedART

Existence of Gran Turismo Sport was known for years, but the game continued to get delayed on multiple instances. Developed by Sony owned studio Polyphony, Gran Turismo Sport is the first outing of the series on PS4 hardware as well as PlayStation VR headset. Upon release, PS4 owners can play the game in normal HDTV mode or VR mode as they like. A closed beta of the game ended earlier this week. Before launch of the game however, expect a full reveal of all the tracks and cars included in the game.

It is worth noting that Gran Turismo Sport is not a numbered game in the Gran Turismo series and Polyphony studio has stated that Gran Turismo 7 is also in early stages of development. Gran Turismo runs at 1080p 60fps on standard PS4 and 4K 60fps (checker-boarding) on PS4 Pro with HDR support for both PS4 hardware models.
