A demo to game The Surge is coming next week

Popularity of Dark Souls and Bloodborne games has led to a new game genre of souls-like games. One of the very first major souls-like game was Lords of the Fallen from developer Deck 13. While Lords of the Fallen did a lot of things right and gained some attention, it did not lit the world on fire with sales numbers.

Developers at Deck 13 then released a new souls-like game The Surge on XBOX One, PC and PS4 in May 2017. Deck 13 has now announced on Twitter that there will be a demo of the game releasing on all three platforms next week. Deck 13 also confirmed that The Surge will have PS4 Pro support at launch with dynamic 4K resolution in 4K mode (along with an option for locked 60fps at 1080p).

Announcement of a demo coming to The Surge is following a patch released for the game earlier this week. The patch included many gameplay tweaks, re-balancing and bug fixes. Furthermore, players now have an option of FOV slider. The Surge has Metacritic rating of 73 for both PC and PS4 versions with similar user ratings (6.9 on PS4 and 7.1 on PC).
