Dragon Age series creator hints that a sequel is currently in-development

While EA or Bioware have not yet announced any plans or details about the future of Dragon Age franchise, it appears that the next game in the much-beloved series is in-development phase.

Speaking to The 1099 Podcast, creative director of the Dragon Age series, Mike Laidlaw said that “something is happening with Dragon Age.” In most likelihood, this is a hint at next game instalment in the series.

In the podcast, Laidlaw did not offer any clear indications or specifics, but hinted at a lot of things. He further confirmed that the Dragon Age team at BioWare is currently “hiring a lot of people.” This information further strengthens the idea that the next game is well into its development.

Laidlaw also jokingly hinted at next Dragon Age game development by saying “I am the creative director for the Dragon Age franchise and they haven't fired me yet.”

The last game in the series was Dragon Age: Inquisition, which released in November of 2014. Inquisition saw a lot of critical and commercial success, making it the most successful game launch for BioWare at the time. With such success and fan-interest in the series, a sequel has always been all-but-confirmed.
