UK: Injustice 2 debuted at #1 while Farpoint became the highest charting VR game
According to sales monitor Sales-Track, Injustice 2 topped the UK games chart for the last week, which was the debut week for Injustice 2. Injustice 2 beat Farpoint, which reached #2 in its debut week for the week ending May 20.
By topping the sales chart, Injustice 2 became the first beam-‘em-up fighting game to reach #1 in UK since the release of Mortal Komat X. Farpoint, on the other hand, notes the first ever VR only game to reach this high in the weekly sales chart.
The #3 entry in the chart is the ever-so-present Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar Games still present in the top 10 list, where it has remained almost always since its release in 2013. Last week’s chart topper, Bethesda’s Prey slipped down 3 spots, charting at #4.
Another new entry in the chart is the Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, a 3DS-exclusive managed to reach #5 on the chart. A Dark Souls/Bloodborne style game The Surge (from the makers of Lords of the Fallen) had its debut this week and managed to chart at #10.
