Blizzard has made the original StarCraft and Brood War free
Blizzard has made the original version of 1998 classic StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War free to play and these are available for download using official Blizzard StarCraft website free of cost.
This deal to make StarCraft free arrives along with a new patch 1.18 for the game that adds many new features to the game including general bug fixes, gameplay enhancements, auto-save feature for replays, and observer mode. Full patch notes for patch 1.18 is available on Official website of the game.
Blizzard had announced the move to make original version of StarCraft free in March with the announcement of releasing a remastered version of original StarCraft with 4K textures and graphics support. The free game is now available for download with the latest patch. The remastered version of original StarCraft will come later this year as Blizzard has not yet confirmed a specific release date or month, and it will include all DLCs and expansions from the original game including Brood War.
