XBOX Project Scorpio gets a pre-order page

It appears that Microsoft has started its preparation of launching XBOX Project Scorpio that is expected to release 2017 holiday season. It is rumored that Microsoft intends to have a small reveal of the Project Scorpio ahead of its E3 2017 conference in order to focus more on games at E3. Project Scorpio has just received a pre-order page on official Microsoft Store, however, Microsoft is not taking pre-orders just yet as customers can only subscribe to get informed when pre-orders do go live. The pre-order listing does not reveal the name of the console as it is still listed with its development title of Project Scorpio.

On the pre-order page, Microsoft lists following features for XBOX Project Scorpio:

  • The most powerful console ever with 6 teraflops of graphical processing power
  • The first and only console to enable true 4K gaming and high-fidelity virtual reality
  • Compatible with all Xbox One games and accessories

So far, Microsoft has not unveiled its plans to include any VR headsets though it is rumored that XBOX brand will partner with Oculus Rift for VR support. Furthermore, reports are already coming out that XBOX Project Scorpio will not be able to deliver native 4K resolution with majoirty of the games either and will resort to a smart upscaling technique similar to PS4 Pro's checkerboard rendering.
